St. Louis
Matt, Joel and I traveled the 4 hours to St. Lois to have a family weekend/anniversary celebration. We got there around 930 pm on Thursday and all was well in the car while Joel was sleeping but unfortunately he woke up when we ot to the hotel so he screamed for about an hour once we got there and then finally fell asleep but got up at 53o AM Friday morning.Since we were up at the crack of dawn we got our day started. We went to a local establishment to eat breakfast - we were by far the youngest people in there but it was delicious.
Then we headed to Grants farm to see all the animals. Joel amazingly actually looked at all the animals and enjoyed seeing them. He even tried to pet the goats. We also got to see the Anheuser Busch Clydesdales. Then we headed back toward the hotel to eat lunch and give Joel a nap. Then in the afternoon we went to the neighborhood called the loop where there are a lot of original and ethnic shops and restaurants. Then we went to The Hill to have a fantastic Italian meal for our anniversary at Zias on the Hill.
On Saturday we were also up at the crack of dawn so we headed to breakfast and then to the arch. We were lucky enough to get the 925 ride up to the top because right after we got our tickets the time changed to 1055 as the next available ride. We traveled in a very tiny elevator with two other people but the view was spectacular.
Then we took Joel back to the hotel for a nap and after that we headed to the Cardinals baseball game. Joel was very well behaved despite the 85 degree heat and very little shade. He enjoyed watching all the people that were around. Unfortunately we didn't get to see the Cardinals win but we had a great time watching the game and Matt got to visit yet another baseball stadium.Sunday morning we headed home.
