Look at what I can do!!

Boy are we in trouble

Look what dad caught me doing when he came back from starting my bath. Mom and dad were sure to lower my bed right away so that I wouldn't come tumbling out during the night or in the morning when I woke up.
Even after lowering my bed mom found me standing after my nap this afternoon.

Puerto Rico Day 7

Matt and I had planned on going snorkeling at some point during our trip. I really wanted to see a sea turtle under the water. Unfortunatly this is the day that we had decided to go. We got to the place where we wanted to rent the equipment and the guys were not there. Then we went into a dive shop to see if they rent equipment and they did but they told us that there was a swell today and that we should drive to the location to see if the waves were big. We drove over to "steps" beach and sure enough the waves were pretty big and they were one right after another. We decided not to go snorkeling so we just went to the beach again and played in the water for a little while. After that we headed back to the house to get ready to go home the next day.

Puerto Rico - Day 6

After Joel's morning nap Matt, Alison, Bob, Joel and I headed to the beach for a little bit. The beach was very nice. It was shaded by trees and there was a nice breeze so Joel didn't get to hot. Joel enjoyed watching the ocean. We spent the rest of the day at the house in the pool.

Puerto Rico Day 5

Today we got up bright and early to head out to the Camuy Caves at 8 AM. I had read reviews saying it was one of the top 3 cave systems in the world. I also read that it gets really busy so we wanted to get there early so we could get on a tour and not have to wait hours for our tour. We got a little lost on the way there but finally arrived around 10 AM. There really was not a wait at all. I guess we went in the off season. The caves were pretty cool though.

Then we headed out to the Aracebo Observatory. This is a telescope put on top of a giant sink hole where they send out radio signals to find stars and other things in outer space.

Puerto Rico Day 4

For me day 4 consisted of hanging out by the pool and taking care of Joel. For Matt it consisted of sleeping and going to the casino.

For dinner that night we went to a local establishment called Simply Delicioso. It was pretty good.

Puerto Rico - Day 3

Matt, Alison, Sara, Josh, Bob, Joel and I all headed to the beach/marina to go Parasailing. Matt and I had never been before so we wanted to take the chance while we could to take advantage of having extra hands around to watch Joel. Matt and I went first and it was definitely an experience worth doing. Joel slept through half of the boat ride and then was happy as can be for the rest of the ride. We all had a great time flying high above the ocean. We got to see great views of the country side. Then we all headed back to the house to swim and relax.

Day 2 Puerto Rico

The entire family spent most of the day lounging around/sleeping/hanging out in the pool.

Day 1 Puerto Rico

After 4 hours of sleep we headed to the rental house. We got there and waited for the rest of the Kaprove clan to get to the final destination. Their original flights for Friday were canceled so they were flying in Saturday to San Juan which was a 2 hour drive from the house.

Travel Headaches for our trip to Puerto Rico

On Thursday (before we were suppose to leave for out trip) we got a call telling us that our flight had been canceled from Indianapolis to Newark, NJ because of the big snow storm they were getting hit with. I had a pretty good idea that this was going to happen since the news had said that they were already canceling and delaying flights before the snow was even there. After that call I started to look at flights towards the south to get to Puerto Rico. We had two options get up at 230 AM to catch a flight to Cleveland to Newark or get a flight to Orlando (which were pretty easy to come by) and get into Puerto Rico at 230 AM. Well after a long process of phone calls I was assured that the weather would be fine and that we should still try to get to New Jersey. So we booked a flight to Cleveland then to Newark. From there we would hop on a flight to Puerto Rico.

So Matt and I raced to get things packed because our original flight was at 2 PM so we thought we had plenty of time on the contrary we now needed to get to bed early so we could get up at the butt crack of dawn which ment that we needed to have most things packed before we headed to bed.

Well 2:30 AM came around way to quickly and Matt and I were off the the races. We got ourselves around by 3 AM. We got Joel out of bed at 315 thinking he would stay a sleep or fall back asleep in the car (he almost always falls asleep in the car) Well course things didn't go according to plans and Joel never went back to sleep.

Here we are off to the airport at 330 AM. We et checked in and all our flights were on time as far as we knew when we boarded our plane to Cleveland. We arrive in Cleveland to find out that our plane to Newark was delayed an hour. So we went to eat breakfast with Alison (Matt's sister who drove to Cleveland to catch the flight with us to Newark). After breakfast we found out our flight had been cancelled (which I thought would probably happen) . So we decided to try and fly south this time isntead of flying into the snow storm. We booked a flight to Orlando where my parents picked us up so we didin't have to sit in the airport until our 11:15 PM flight to Puerto Rico. After a nice visit with my parents we headed back to the airport to get on our next flight. We got to our ultimate destination at 3 AM. So after traveling for a total of 24 hours and doing both options we were first presented with . We got a rental car and headed to a hotel close to the airport to sleep.
